City of Enid Engineering officials announced today that the construction of new ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps within a one block radius around Garfield Elementary School will begin Monday, July 8, 2019.
The following roads will be affected:
| North 6th Street | East 2nd Pine Ave to East Oak Ave | East Elm Ave to East Maple Ave |
| North 7th Street | East 2nd Pine Ave to East Oak Ave | East Elm Ave to East Maple Ave |
| East Elm Street | North 6th Street to North 5th Street | North 7th Street to North 8th Street |
| East Pine Avenue | Gore Street to North 5th Street | North 7th Street to North 8th Street |
| East 2nd Pine Avenue | North 7th Street to North Malone Street | |
| Gore Street | East 2nd Pine Ave to East Oak Ave |
The project will take between three to four months to complete, weather permitting. During this time, motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to follow posted signs and to travel with caution in this area during the construction effort.
