An Enid Public Schools Board of Education meeting held on Monday night has led to the approval of a new turf installation project to take place at both David Allen Memorial Ballpark & D. Bruce Selby Stadium in Enid. The project is estimated to cost upwards of $600,000 and will officially launch in October, with the ballpark receiving treatment first.

The Board agreed that advances in turf technology would not only keep athletes safer during competition, but also would be easier to maintain for grounds crews at both facilities as well. Hellas Construction officials have confirmed that they will remove the old turf and install the new turf in both facilities once proper funding has been organized, with EPS officials noting that both facilities will be able to enjoy the new surfaces for at least the next decade after.
