Some unfortunate news has impacted the Oklahoma State football program in the last few days, as redshirt senior back Larry Joubert Jr has been forced to retire from football due to a recently discovered heart condition. Per reports, a routine physical done on Joubert before fall preseason camp identified an enlarged heart muscle, with medical officials then confirming the diagnosis through a second opinion given by a professional not associated with Oklahoma State. After the diagnosis and the recommendation to no longer play football, Joubert Jr took to Twitter to make his retirement announcement official:

Joubert Jr. began his college football career at the Junior College level at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, after a standout career for Douglass High School in Oklahoma City. Joubert Jr. appeared in six games for the Cowboys this past season, primarily playing on offense and special teams.
