On Monday afternoon, an area near Lamont was struck with a 3.4 magnitude earthquake. The quake hit around 2:40 PM about 5.8 miles west of Lamont and 24.2 miles north-northeast of Enid according to the US Geological Study.
Originally it was reported as a magnitude 3.3 before it was moved to a 3.7 then finally down to a 3.4 This is a 34th earth quake this year measuring over 3.0 magnitude which is still less than last year at this time as there were 124 3.0 quakes through August of last year.
