Grant and Garfield Counties Combine for Arrest

(Wakita, OK) Grant and Garfield County authorities combined for the arrest of a 37-year-old Enid man Wednesday morning after learning he was at a residence in Wakita. Grant County Sheriff Scott Sterling received a tip last Friday that Anthony Glenn Barnes, who had felony warrants out for his arrest in Garfield County, was found in Wakita. Sterling and deputies kept surveillance on the residence in question before contacting Garfield County Sheriff Jody Helm.

He and Helm discussed strategies, Helm sent deputies to assist Grant County’s officers on site. Barnes was taken into custody around 10 a.m. without incident. Helm stated that Barnes was considered likely armed and potentially dangerous, Barnes has a history of fleeing law enforcement.
