(Enid, OK) Restrictions on patients facing “end of life” situations have been relaxed at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. Those who are facing the end because of COVID-19 are being allowed “patient representatives”.

In order to be able to stay with patients during their easement, one person is a designated representative during remaining care, has to have health screenings at temperature stations, have no signs of the illness, check in with attendance logs, and meet hygiene and masking compliance.

However, no social visitation is allowed for patients suffering from COVID-19, waiting rooms and common areas will remain closed as well.

Patient representatives must be adults, 18 years or older, designated by patients, and doesn’t have to be a formal, legal representative but someone that provides emotional support and can provide decision making assistance.

Patients in isolation are allowed visitation only at the end of life. According to a representative of the facility, the hospital reserves the right to ask non-compliant representatives to leave the facility.
