Accidental Fire Ends in Property Damage

(Enid, OK) A fire yesterday morning leaves residents safe but significant damage to a house located at 1002 N. Adams Drive.

According to the Enid Fire Department, seven units were dispatched to a structure fire Wednesday morning. One resident was in the bathroom when she heard the fire alarm and found smoke in the living room and bedroom. According to her report, the bed was on fire. The woman, along with her fiance and child, all managed to escape from the home before calling 911.

Both residents are smokers, which may have contributed to the start of the fire. Cigarettes have not been ruled out as a cause of the fire, according to the EFD. Crews have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

Estimated damage of the property is $23,000.00.
