(Enid, OK) An additional $2.7 million was approved to the design firm for the Kaw Lake Water Pipeline on Tuesday night. Commissioners unanimously approved the costs for Garver Engineering LLC after its extended work along with the at-risk firm, Garney Construction.

This will not impact the overall budget of $315 million, phase four is set to begin early next year.

The majority of the $12.1 million budget has been spent on program management since October of 2018. The rest of pre-construction would cost an additional $4.5 million.

The 70-mile pipeline will intersect 230 parcels of land from Kaw Lake to a water treatment plant located in Enid. The city has accepted 179 of the 230 thus far.
