Commission Meets For Police Raises

(Enid, OK) Tonight’s Enid City Commission meeting will see the approval of a pay plan designed to provide incentive for new hires to the Enid Police Department. As part of the union’s two-year collective bargaining agreement, the plan will include raising officer salaries from $37,000 to $41,000 including a bonus of $6,000.

Average salary for Oklahoma police officers is $48,000, one of the lowest in the country.

Commissioners will also be looking at the new skate park at Randolph and 5th. The city has set $300,000 for the park, more funds will be voted on during tonight’s session.

The commission meeting starts at 6:30 pm at 401 W Garriott Road.
