EPS Board Votes to Require Masks in Social Situations

(Enid, OK) Enid Public Schools have officially mandated masks to be work when students gather in communal areas. The Board of Education’s meeting on Monday determined that places such as auditoriums, buses, and gymnasiums will require masks when social distancing in not an option.

Possible exemptions for masks are set to be ruled on by administrators in the near future.

Cloth masks have been ordered for students and faculty totaling $50,000 in order to ensure participation.

Students who may test positive for COVID-19 will be moved to an isolation room in the school’s health office. Garfield County’s Health Department will then execute contact tracing. The student will be out of school for a required 14 days.

Students will have three options for learning, however. Students coming to school in-person, virtual learning, or a combination of both.
