(Oklahoma City, OK) Medicaid expansion is on the forefront of the upcoming election after a statewide ballot question was approved to appear on the ballot. State Question 802 will amend the state constitution, giving income eligibility expansion for Medicaid coverage.

What’s notable is the campaign for Medicaid expansion spent $5.5 million on the effort with several associations donating a large amount of money. The Oklahoma Hospital Association led the charge with $2.5 million, two hospitals in Tulsa, Saint Francis Hospital $940,000 and The Tulsa Community Foundation with $923,000.

The report that was filed this past Friday gave an insight in to contributions from the campaign, including a political action committee that was formed in April of last year.
