(Enid, OK) Oklahoma State University began fall semester classes on Monday, but an entire sorority will begin the semester under quarantine.

23 members of the Pi Beta Phi sorority have tested positive for COVID-19. Only one member of the sorority was showing symptoms and none of the sisters are being allowed to leave their off-campus house.

The sisters who moved in between August 2nd and 6th, however, all tested negative.

Okalahoma State University already had 22 COVID-19 cases, due to mandatory student testing before moving into residence halls, so this incident doubles OSU’s overall case numbers.

The students who tested positive on campus were moved into a separate dorm building for quarantining.

University spokeswoman Monica Roberts says that an event like this was expected with 20,000 students returning to campus.
