(Enid, OK) Enid Public Schools officials confirmed late Wednesday night that Eight elementary classes and children from the district employee daycare are being quarantined due to potential contact with positive COVID-19 cases.

One class from Glenwood Elementary, two from Garfield Elementary and five from Monroe Elementary are the schools being affected by the quarantine.

EPS spokesperson Jane Johnson did not confirm how many students will be entering quarantine, the grades or how long it will last. The students will move to distanced learning while quarantined.

A childcare worker from EPS Cares has tested positive for COVID-19. EPS employees will not be required to also quarantine, but if another member in the household shows symptoms, the employee will have to quarantine until they receive a COVID-19 test.
