Enid Public Schools Sees Over 30 Positive COVID-19 Cases, Hundreds Quarantined

(Enid, OK) With the new cases in Garfield County, some of them are going into Enid Public Schools. A new report shows that 30 students or staff from around the district have tested positive for COVID-19.

EPS began the school year with a mix of in-person and virtual courses, but now over 360 students are in “close contact quarantine” with Monroe Elementary seeing the most with 111 students have gone into quarantine with 5 showing positive tests.

24 students throughout EPS have tested positive for COVID-19 with 7 at Enid High School, 4 at Longfellow Middle School, 3 at McKinley Elementary, 2 at Coolidge Elementary & Garfield Elementary and 1 positive case at Emerson Middle School, Glenwood Elementary, Hayes Elementary & Hoover Elementary. 

No changes to schedules have been announced, but an upcoming board meeting in September will likely see some change to how EPS approaches COVID-19.
