SHARE NOW

The Enid Plainsmen are entering their second season in this particular district.   After a 0-10 winless season in 2019, the Enid Plainsmen are looking to use their experience to the team’s advantage. This will be head coach Rashaun Woods second season at the helm in Enid. The Plainsmen though this season have 23-24 seniors on this year’s squad, with 9 starters returning on both sides of the ball from last year. Experience is going to be what the Plainsmen hope can push the team over the hump. Senior quarterback Blake Priest, who committed to play college baseball for the Oklahoma Sooners back in July, is looking to use his experience to the Plainsmen advantage. Good news, the offense and defense is the same as last season so there should not be a learning curve under their second year head coach. Woods continuously has complemented Priest, saying he has Power 5 potential at the QB position.

Enid is also bringing back 30 returning letter winners. Enid has a chance to start the season off strong, quickly. The Plainsmen Week One game is on the road against Class 3A Madill (Original game vs. Putnam City was cancelled due to COVID). A very winnable game. The district favorites are Jenks, Edmond Santa Fe and Broken Arrow. But one team you need to pay attention to is Westmoore. They have a veteran at the quarterback position, and they are looking for their first playoff berth since 2017. One of the best games this season you will want to make sure you take the time and see is on October 15 between the two power houses in the district…Edmond Santa Fe and Jenks.  Enid will have to compete against some top teams in district play to have a chance of making positive steps as they look for their first winning season since 2010.
