2. Seattle Seahawks

1. Kansas City Chiefs

After a very revealing week 3, I have shifted my rankings to better reflect who I perceive as the biggest contenders in the league.

Obviously after an absolute dog-walk of a Monday Night Football game, we’ve got to rightfully dock the Ravens and praise the Chiefs. I had the Chiefs at one last week because of the exact reason we saw the Ravens struggle last night. What the Ravens struggle at, the Chiefs are more comfortable doing. Go up double digits against the Ravens early and you have a real good chance at taking them down.

This is also why I bumped up the Seahawks to second overall. If Mahomes is decisively the best quarterback in the NFL (he is), then Russell Wilson is hands down number two. His latest accomplishment of an NFL record 14 passing TD’s in his first three games is just one of the ways he can beat you.

No matter how poor I believe Drew Brees’s arm is at this stage in his career, going into the Superdome and beating the Saints is no small feat, and the Packers did just that on Sunday Night Football. That gives them a boost over Tampa Bay, even though the Buccaneers rolled against a bad Broncos team.

The Patriots have my attention. Now that the league has had several weeks of film of the Cam Newton led Patriots, they’ve had time to adjust. I can now confidently say this New England team is neck and neck with the Josh Allen led powerhouse in Western New York.

And, NO. The Los Angeles Rams have not earned my trust/respect/attention. Jared Goff is a bottom half of the league quarterback who only succeeds on gimmicks, bells, and whistles.
