After doing the seemingly impossible – completing a 60-game MLB season without putting their players in a bubble – playoffs begin today for MLB. In addition to removing more than 100 games from the regular season, MLB playoffs are also different in 2020. Now, eight teams from both the AL and NL are all included, and they all all compete in 3-game Wild Card series’. With the 1-seed playing the 8-seed, the 2-seed playing the 7-seed, and so on and so forth, it’s reasonable to expect there to be some big time upsets with just two losses sending teams home in the first round.
The American League starts today (Tuesday), with the National League starting tomorrow (Wednesday).
The stand out game of the first day of MLB action has got to be Yankees-Indians. With Gerrit Cole and the presumed CY Young winner, Shane Bieber squaring off, we will have a true pitcher’s duel.
