Earthquake Near Kansas Border Rocks NW Oklahoma, Felt in OKC

(Enid, OK) An earthquake near the Oklahoma-Kansas border, at a magnitude of 4.2,  sent shockwaves through NW Oklahoma and stretched as far as Oklahoma City on Friday morning. 

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake was recorded at 7:56 a.m. on Feb. 19th, with the epicenter located about 3.7 miles southwest of Manchester and 41 miles north-northwest of Enid.

The USGS first recorded the quake at a magnitude 4.5, it was upgraded to a magnitude of 4.8 before settling at a 4.2 magnitude.

The earthquake could be felt from Salina, KS and as far south as Norman while extending west into the OK/TX border and eastward towards Tulsa.

An earthquake of a magnitude 2.0 was measured near the first, about 3.1 miles southwest of Manchester, at 8:30a.m. later that morning.
