Enid City Officials Asking Residents to Converse Water to Prevent Emergency

(Enid, OK) In a news release from the city on Friday, Enid city officials are urging residents to limit water usage as temperatures are rising and city crews fix issues in the water system.

The average daily use is normally under 6-6.5 million gallons a day with February’s monthly average so far has risen to more than 7.6 million gallons.

Enid’s total water usage on Thursday was said to be 12.4 million gallons, according to the city, sparking the urge to ask residents to converse water.

As the ice and snow is melting, there may be leaks in the water system, according to the city, and residents are urged to contact the city immediately if any shutoffs need to occur.

These tips were given in order to converse water and prevent any possible damages to water systems:

• Open cabinets to prevent pipes from freezing.

• Reduce water usage.

• If residents have heat in their homes, do not drip faucets or leave them running.

• If  faucets dripping, capture the water to use for other purposes and activities, such as toilets.
