Garfield County Moves Into New Normal “Green” Zone, 2 Enid Resident Among Deaths

(Enid, OK) In its weekly report Wednesday, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported that two Enid residents were among the 46 COVID-19-related deaths reported in the past week.

Garfield County moved into the new normal, or “green,” risk level in the COVID-19 Risk Level System.

Garfield County’s cases increased by five for an overall total of 7,802, with 12 active cases.

Out of Garfield County’s 130 deaths, 120 have been in Enid, with five in Lahoma, one each in Fairmont, Drummond, Garber, Covington and one not listed by town/city.

Other Northwest Oklahoma county increases included four in Woodward, three in Blaine, two in Kingfisher and one in Noble.

Children as young as 12-years-old can make appointments for the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine on Thursday.

The OSDH made the decision Wednesday after the federal FDA granted emergency use authorization to the vaccine for use in children as young as 12.
