(Oklahoma City, OK) The Oklahoma State Department of Health will begin a statewide text campaign to relay information about the COVID-19 vaccine to Oklahomans.

Texts will be aimed at residents in areas across the state that have seen lower vaccination uptake rates. It will consist of a series of three messages that will be sent two to three days following the dates June 4th, 9th and 15th, according to the OSDH on Wednesday.

The texts will be sent by representatives, who will identify on behalf of OSDH, and will come from an Oklahoma area code depending on the individual.

Residents can follow-up with questions or requests for more information and can also reply in Spanish.

Recipients can opt out of receiving the messages at any time.
