Justin Timberlake sent a public message of support to his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, just hours after she made a passionate statement in court, pleading with a judge to end her conservatorship.

Speaking on behalf of himself and his wife, Jessica Biel, Timberlake wrote:

“After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time. Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was…what’s happening to her is just not right. No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body.”
He added, “No one should ever be held against their will…or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.”

In her testimony on Wednesday, Spears told the judge, “I’m not able to get married or have a baby, I have an IUD inside of myself right now so I don’t get pregnant. I wanted to take the IUD out so I could start trying to have another baby. But this so-called team won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out, because they don’t want me to have any more children.”

The internet is full of Britney supporters including Mariah Carey who wrote: “We love you Britney!!!” And Andy Cohen tweeted “#FreeBritney.”

Ultimately, Spears asked the judge to end her conservatorship.
