Garfield County Returns to the “Green” Classification as State Reports 1.5k New COVID Cases in Past Week

(Enid, OK) Garfield County returns to the “green” COVID risk classification this week, alongside a majority of Northwest Oklahoma being “green”, while much of the rest of the state’s counties saw “yellow” and “orange” for the COVID-19 risk level classifications.

According to Oklahoma State Department of Health’s COVID-19 Risk Level System on Wednesday, seven of Oklahoma’s 77 counties are in the moderate, “orange,” risk level. 50 counties are in the low, “yellow,” risk level and 20 are in the new normal, or “green,” risk level.

There were four counties in the moderate risk level last week, 37 counties in the low risk level and 36 in the new normal risk level.

The state gained 1,504 COVID-19 cases and reported four deaths, according to OSDH on Wednesday.

Garfield County’s cases increased by two in the past week for an overall total of 7,835, with four active cases.

Of the county’s 139 reported deaths, there have been 128 in Enid, five in Lahoma, one each in Covington, Drummond, Fairmont, Garber, and Waukomis and one not listed by town.

Other Northwest Oklahoma county case increases, in the past week, included three each in Blaine and Noble and one each in Woods and Woodward counties.
