(Enid, OK) The 4th of July weekend saw multiple people, including Enid residents, in several area motorcycle accidents.

Enid residents 47-year-old Michael D. Rodgers and passenger 44-year-old Casey Lynn Midas sustained head, leg and arm injuries after hitting a deer early Monday morning. Both were taken to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Rodgers was admitted in stable condition and Midas was transferred to OU Health Center, where she was admitted in critical condition, according to the OHP report.

At about 1:40 a.m. Monday, Rodgers struck a deer with his 2002 Harley Davidson after it entered the roadway heading east on Breckenridge Road.

No helmets were worn, and the condition of the driver, Rodgers, was normal.

30-year-old Alexander Kuhr of Kiowa, Kansas, was critically injured Sunday afternoon after running into another man from Kiowa while the two were riding motorcycles on an Alfalfa County road.

Kuhr was taken to Kiowa District Hospital in Kiowa, before being transported by helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was admitted in critical condition with head, arm, leg and internal and external chest injuries.

At around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Kuhr and 35-year-old Jeremy Stewart were both northbound passing a disabled car on the roadside of county road 580. Stewart had slowed his 2007 Suzuki, while Kuhr turned to look at the car and struck Stewart’s motorcycle from behind with his 2007 Yamaha.

Kuhr was not wearing his helmet, according to OHP and Stewart, who was wearing a helmet, was not injured in the collision.

Both drivers’ conditions were reported apparently normal.
