Martin Luther King Jr. Day is next Monday. The City of Enid will honor the civil rights leader on Saturday with its annual MLK Jr. Celebration.
Festivities begin at 1:30 pm on Saturday as a commemorative march begins outside the Stride Bank Center Grand Ballroom. A celebration program then begins inside at 2 pm.
The City of Enid recognizes the contributions of Dr. King every day. The city administration building at 401 W Garriott is named the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Municipal Complex. The photo is the relief outside the complex, which includes the “I Have a Dream” quote from Dr. King’s 1963 speech in Washington, DC.
