Last night at the Chisholm Public Schools school board meeting, the new hire for the Head Football coaching position was approved and finalized.

The hire is former Choctaw High School offensive coordinator Kimes Gilbert. Gilbert played football in college for Oklahoma Baptist University where he was an NAIA All American in 2013.

In 2020 he was inducted into the Oklahoma Baptists Athletic Hall of Fame. He still holds the school record for career sacks with 23.

As offensive coordinator of Choctaw High School, he led the Yellowjackets to an 8-3 record. His offense averaged 42 points a game.

Gilbert will look to turn around a program that went 0-10 last season.
