Execution of Oklahoma Death Row inmate carried out this morning

This morning at 10:14 am, the execution of Death Row inmate and convicted murderer Gilbert Ray Postelle was carried out via lethal injection. The execution was carried out with zero complications.

Postelle was convicted of murdering 4 people in 2005 and is the 4th person to be executed by Oklahoma since the state resumed executions in October 2021. Postelle was 19 when the murders he was convicted of carrying out took place. Postelle’s brother David Postelle is serving life in prison for his role in the shootings.

As his last meal, Postelle was granted his last meal which consisted of 20 chicken nuggets and 3 orders of large fries. Governor Kevin Stitt denied the pleas of Postelle’s family to delay the execution. Postelle was 35 years old at the time of death.
