Enid Oklahoma, 1 day after 70-degree weather snow and ice have covered the roads in Enid Oklahoma. Most schools and businesses have already decided to take a day off or switch to virtual operations. (For more information on closures visit this link. https://www.enidlive.com/closings-delays/ )

It is currently not safe to drive on the roads, even for drivers with experience driving on snow and ice. The rain last night when it was still relatively warm at 40 degrees froze over in the morning when temperatures dropped below freezing leaving a sheet of thick ice on the roads.

Conditions only got worse from there as snow has continued to fall throughout the day. There have already been early reports of two cars falling into ditches, near Chestnut Avenue. No injuries to the drivers have been reported.

Drivers should stay home unless necessary until the conditions improve.
