At around 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 19th a breaking ground ceremony was held at the Learning Tree Preschool in the 1st United Methodist Church. The ceremony was held for a new playground that is being built to expand the existing playground at Learning Tree Elementary.
Golden Shovels were used to break ground and the kids at Learning Tree Preschool were given plastic shovels to get in on the fun. As the Preschool has grown from 50 kids to 150 kids, expansion of the playground became necessary. Also, the playground was 30 years old and in need of renovations.
Currently, the playground is expected to be completed by the end of this August.
