Murdered Child Suspected to have been Drowned in Hotel Pool After being Sexually Assaulted

New information has been revealed regarding the murder of a child at the OYO motel on S. Van Buren this morning. At 1:47 am this morning the Enid Police were called with reports of a child drowning in the motel pool. Police believe that the child drowned in the pool after being the victim of sexual assault.

Michael S. Geiger was identified as a suspect and was arrested by Enid Police at 9:13 am on the roof of a building at 1710 S. Van Buren. Geiger was taken into custody on complaints of 1st-degree rape and 1st-degree murder. If convicted of the crimes, Geiger would be eligible for the death penalty under Oklahoma law.

The child was a girl believed to be between the ages of 2-4, after the arrival of the Enid PD, the child had already been removed from the pool, and CPR was performed until the arrival of EMS. Paramedics transported the child to Integris Bass Hospital where the child was pronounced dead.

Discussing the case Enid Police Lt. Bryan Hart said “This was an aggravated assault on an innocent child and a very disturbing incident”. Oklahoma’s Channel 4 News reported that Geiger had just been released from state custody in March after serving a 10-year sentence for kidnapping in Oklahoma County.
