On Friday at noon, a playground was dedicated to the former Executive Director of the Youth and Family Services of Enid Dan Buckley. The playground was built in front of the Youth and Family Services Center in Enid at 605 W Oxford Ave.

City of Enid officials were in attendance like Enid mayor George Pankonin who said that he had been to many dedications and couldn’t think of someone more deserving than Buckley. Also in attendance was assistant city manager Scott Morris.

Buckley accepted the award in person with his family, which marked a special occasion for Buckley who was in the hospital for over 100 days with COVID-19. Buckley said that accepting the award was one of the few times that he had left his home other than for doctor appointments.

Buckley has been an involved member of the Enid community through his involvement with Family Services of Enid.
