Last night the City of Enid approved the budget for the 2022-2023 year. The budget for the 2022-2023 year which is from Jun 30, 2022-Jun 30, 2023, totals 188.9 million dollars while the city’s revenue is projected to be about $184.3 million dollars. So the city will be running on about a 4.6 million dollar deficit for the 2022-2023 budgeted year.
However the city has available funds to fall back on, the city is projected to have a fund balance of about 226.8 million dollars on Jun 30, 2022, and a balance of about $222.2 million dollars on Jun 30, 2023. The city budget is divided into 22 sections which include the airport, police, the Enid Municipal Authority, and more.
The most expensive of the 22 budgeted sections was the Enid Municipal Authority which is projected to bring in about 59.4 million dollars in revenue while its expenditures for the budgeted year are about 62 million dollars.
Last year’s budget had about 170.5 million dollars in revenue and about 180.3 million dollars in expenditures which caused a deficit of about 10.2 million dollars. So for this year, the budget deficit decreased by about 5.6 million dollars.
