On Sunday, May 22nd Willowview United Methodists Church will celebrate 120 years of ministry. The church came into being in 1902 when 30 people gathered in the Garfield County Courthouse, the church now has almost 500 members in a building constructed in 1982 and added a 1.5 million 470 seat worship center in 2004.

The church has been through some adversity during its 120-year history, in 1951 a fire almost destroyed the church. Repairs on the church wouldn’t be completed until 1953. Celebrating his church Reverand Mark McAdow said in a press release that “We want to recognize the significance of this ministry. What we do today is rooted in decades of people and programs past, and it’s destined to impact our community and world for decades to come,”.

To celebrate the occasion the church will hold a combined worship service, and a traditional Sunday dinner will follow with a special video presentation celebrating the history of the church.
