ESPCA Having a Spaghetti Dinner to Help People Fix their Animals

Tomorrow the ESPCA who runs Enid’s no-kill animal shelter is running a spaghetti lunch to support Enid animals. The lunch is called Spay-ghetti and No-Balls, spaghetti, salad, a breadstick, salad, and drink will be sold for 5$. While the name may be strange there is a reason for it.

During the pandemic, elective medical procedures were temporarily suspended, including veterinary procedures like spaying and neutering. When elective procedures returned many people still were not taking in their animals to get fixed. This led to an increase in the local animal population, causing local shelters like the ESPCA to fill up to maximum capacity.

ESPCA Executive Director Vicki Grantz speaking about the problem said “I think what’s gonna help solve the problem is having an affordable option”. Grantz says that the ESPCA uses funds to provide a low-cost spay-neuter option.

The lunch is tomorrow at the ESPCA at 1116 Overland Trail from 11 am to 3 pm.
