On Tuesday, June 14th Chisholm High School’s new principal Cindy Black met with staff and parents in the commons of the High School. Black was introduced by superintendent Dr. Dudley Darrow who said some kind words about the new principal.

Black then gave some background information about herself including her history with the city of Enid, and how she even has grandchildren in the area. Black worked with Darrow at Enid Public Schools and Black “Working with Dudley in the Enid Public School was one of the biggest factors”.

Black also mentioned how being closer to her son and grandchildren played a factor “So when I left I left my son here in town and now that I’m back I have a son that is a fireman, a daughter-in-law that teaches Pre-K at the Learning Tree and I have 3 grandchildren, so yes a big part of me coming back is to enjoy that family time”.

Another benefit of Black’s experience with the Enid area is that some of her new employees of the High School are former students “there are several people here that greeted me from OBA from Enid from the Covington area that are employees of the High School” Black said.

Black will begin her duties at Chisholm High School on July 1st.
