Enid Public Schools announced last night that they have promoted Robert Kappus to be the new principal of Taft Elementary. Kappus is replacing Allen who resigned at the school board meeting last night citing health issues.

Kappus previously served as the interim principal at Monroe Elementary during the 2020-2021 school year and has been with Enid Public Schools since 2005 where he has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and interim principal.

The district’s superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd said “Scott Allen has done an excellent job for us as principal at Monroe Elementary, but his medical issues ultimately forced him to decide to resign in order to focus on his health and his family,”.

Dr. Floyd then said “Rob Kappus has served admirably as an elementary administrative intern, assistant principal, and interim principal. He has worked hard, trained well, and will be an excellent campus principal at Taft Elementary.”
