On Thursday, July 8th at 6:30 pm during the Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners meeting the city of Enid approved an agreement with the Ponca Tribe to allow construction of the Kaw Lake water pipeline on Ponca land.

The agreement would have the city of Enid pay the Ponca Tribe 4.2 million dollars to allow the construction to be completed. Another key item on the agenda that was approved was the collective bargaining agreement between the city of Enid and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.

This will lead to raises for some city of Enid employees. Positions that require a commercial driver’s license will receive a raise of 6.5% across the board. The agreement also states that for positions that require a degree, the employees who have an associate’s, a bachelor’s, or a master’s degree will receive $40.00 a month, $100.00 a month, and $200.00 a month, respectively.
