The state of Oklahoma has launched a new mental health service called 988 Oklahoma which is a mental health hotline. Those who call the number if they or someone they know is experiencing a mental health crisis will be connected to a mental health professional.

If more help is needed after the initial phone call then the 988 center will send over a mobile crisis team to access the situation and intervene if necessary. 988 will also provide transportation to a crisis center, or urgent care if the situation warrants it.

The hotline was launched on July 5th and a link to the hotline was posted by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.
