At 8:50 am the Burkes Outlet Store on Garriott held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the store. Mayor George Pankonin was in attendance as were the Chamber of Commerce and the Enid Regional Development Alliance.
Mayor George Pankonin presented a plaque to Store Manager Pamela Hernandez who said “it was very neat to see the mayor come over here and present this plaque”. Hernandez relocated to Enid from Arizona and said the reception was “very welcoming”.
Membership Special Events Coordinator for the Enid Chamber of Commerce Lori Coonrod said of community members supporting the grand opening “the ambassadors always do a great job they really turned out great today and do a wonderful job just welcoming the new businesses to town”.
