On Thursday morning Enid Mayor George Pankonin answered community questions in an interview with Enidlive. One of the most common questions that Pankonin answered was why roads can take so long to fix or be built.

In response to this Pankonin said, “1st you need money and there’s never enough money, if I told you it cost 1 million dollars a mile to pave a road that’s probably right in the ballpark that’s a lot of money and we don’t have enough money to do all that”.

Another common question that the Mayor answered was why potholes seem to take so long to fix. Pankonin responded by saying “there are potholes being fixed every single day, you might see a pothole every day because your normal route takes you right by that pothole so it seems like they’re not doing anything” “I know it seems like it takes a long time to get all the potholes fixed and the one you look at the most is the one that bothers you the most”.

Pankonin also answered questions about stray animals in Enid after-school programs, and what he thinks is his biggest accomplishments as Mayor. To listen to the full interview click on the following link.
