Earlier today city of Enid officials announced an emergency water outage on East Oak from N. 20th St to N. 25th St. The reason for the outage is due to waterline repairs, and services are expected to be restored by 4:00 pm today.

Such water outages whether scheduled or emergency has become more common due to the Kaw Lake waterline construction. Also recently waterline construction has also been ongoing due to the Leona Mitchell BLVD waterline project.

Upgrading or building new waterlines means that sometimes parts of the city will have to deal with temporary water outages. Fortunately, the outages usually don’t usually last any longer than the length of a workday before the water is back to running.
