Large Crowd Turns Out for Cherokee Strip Parade

A large crowd gathered on Saturday to celebrate the opening of the Cherokee Strip Land run in 1893. The festivities started off with the Enid Walk of Fame Ceremony, which honored Joan Allens and Elaine Johns.

Next was the Cherokee Strip parade which was emceed by Wyatt Reed of KNID, dozens of floats and vehicles of local businesses and organizations participated in the parade as thousands cheered on in downtown Enid.

While on the courthouse lawn several vendors had their wares for sale as it seemed like half the town of Enid was out to celebrate the occasion.
