Metallica has announced a one-off concert paying tribute to late Megaforce Records co-founders Jon and Marsha Zazula, taking place November 6 in Hollywood, Florida.

The Zazulas launched Megaforce in 1982 and signed a then-unknown Metallica to their first record deal. Marsha passed away in January 2021 followed by Jon in February 2022.

“Jonny gave us our first break in New York, released our first albums on his Megaforce Records label, and put us out on the road for our first real tour,” Metallica says. “With Marsha by his side, Jonny was a mentor, a manager, a label head, and a father figure to us all…we would not be where we are today without the two of them.”

For the concert, Metallica will be “cooking up a special setlist for you full of songs from our days with Jonny and Marsha at Megaforce.” The band Raven, another Megaforce signee that headlined Metallica’s first-ever tour, will open the show.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 30, at 10 a.m. ET. Members of Metallica’s Fifth Member fan club will have access to a presale beginning Wednesday, September 28.

Metallica just performed at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City over the weekend. The set included a performance of “Nothing Else Matter” with country star Mickey Guyton, who previously covered the song for The Metallica Blacklist tribute compilation.
