Sully Erna of Godsmack opened up about his tough battle with Covid and says “It kicked my a**.”

Last year he spent time in the hospital with it and although he tested negative within the week, he continued to get sicker and sicker. He had a severe cough, body aches, and fever. It turned into pneumonia and caused him to have blood clots in his lungs.

He said, “I'm a strong guy. I have big lungs. I box, I run, I'm on stage two hours a night. Covid shouldn't kick my ass. But what happened was I was down too long. All my medical team was on Christmas vacation, and I sat there for three weeks before I could be seen by a doctor. And so I got blood clotting in my legs that came up to my heart.”

Erna tested positive for Covid again recently, and said, “Now they have these antiviral meds and I jumped right on it and I knocked it out within three days.”

Erna admitted in the interview that because he was in good physical shape, he didn’t think he could even get Covid.
