Enid Municipal Election Dates Announced

The city of Enid put out the following press release.

The election will decide who will represent residents in Wards 1, 2, and 5 on the Enid City Council for the next four years, as well as the mayor for all residents of Enid. The term for those elected will begin officially May 1, 2023.

The filing period for all offices is from 8 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022 through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. The application for filing may be obtained from the Garfield County Election Board or the Office of the City Clerk.

Qualifications for said offices are as follows:

  1. All candidates must:
    1. Be an elector of the State of Oklahoma
    2. Be at least twenty-five (25) years of age
    3. At the time of the election, and for the two (2) years next preceding such election, shall have been a resident in good faith of the City of Enid
    4. Must file for office within the required time
  1. Candidates for Commissioner shall also be a bona fide resident of the ward he or she seeks to represent at the time of filing for office and election.

The general municipal election is February 14, 2023.  If a run-off election is necessary, it will be conducted on April 4, 2023.
