NOC Enid to Host Daughters of the American Revolution for Veterans Day Celebration

NOC Enid put out the following press release: Northern Oklahoma College Enid Veterans Day will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 11 at the Gantz Center at NOC Enid from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Cynthia Smith, President of the Enid Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

All NOC faculty, staff, students, veterans and the community are invited to attend the celebration.

The program will be available on Zoom to the Commons Area at NOC Stillwater and the Walcher Conference Center at NOC Tonkawa.

Members of the DAR are vibrant, active women who are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating children, as well as honoring and supporting those who serve our nation, according to www.dar.org.

According to the website, DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests but all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America. Any woman 18 years or older regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join.
