Incumbent Republican Governor Kevin Stitt defeated Democrat challenger Joy Hofmeister with a comfortable lead in a race that was expected to be closer than usual due to a high amount of spending by Hofmeister. Some also believed that the Democrat message on education would be enough to make it a close race however Democrats were still defeated in the statewide race for Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Overall Republicans had a good night sweeping all of the statewide races. In state congressional races Republicans picked up a state senate seat, while the Democrats picked up 2 seats in the State House of Representatives. Republicans still have a supermajority in both the senate and the house.
