Enid Public School’s Lifts Lockdown All Students Safe After Statewide School Shooter Hoax

At around noon on Thursday, December 8th Enid High School went into lockdown after a hoax 911 call alleging that there was an active shooter. Similar hoax calls took place throughout the state including at Medford, Stillwater, Tulsa, and many other school districts.

After the lockdown was enacted there was a heavy police presence at the school while multiple local law enforcement agencies conducted a thorough search of the school. At around 1:00 pm it was announced that it was safe and the lockdown was lifted.

Parents were given the option to pick up students early and it was requested that IDs be shown upon pickup. Otherwise, it was announced that school activities would resume as normal.
