On Wednesday, January 4th at 11:47 am in the morning, the Enid Police Department arrested Gary Bowling III, a 22-year-old male, on a federal arrest warrant, obstruction, and resisting arrest. Enid detectives had been surveilling an apartment they believed Bowling had been staying at when they were tipped off that Bowling had been staying at a residence on E. Cherokee.

Detectives then went to the address in an unmarked car, one detective covering the front entrance and the other covering the back entrance. Bowling exited the home out the back entrance and fled from the detective allegedly carrying a backpack and a handgun.

Bowling was found hiding behind a vehicle in the 1000 block of East Oklahoma shortly after evading the detective. No handgun was found on the suspect or in the area, however, Bowling did admit to police that he had a handgun in his left hand before changing his story.
