At the 26th Annual KNID Agrifest United States Representative Frank Lucas spoke at the Oklahoma Sorghum Growers Annual Meeting. Lucas’s Topic was the 2023 Farm Bill and the challenges that will come with getting it through Congress.
Lucas explained what the Farm Bill is saying “that’s the safety net that makes sure producers can deal with weather and market conditions and prices things they have no control over”. Lucas talked about the challenges the Farm Bill faces saying “you have a new Republican House of Representatives there’s gonna be a very strong focus on reducing spending so how do we take the money that’s available to us and use it in a way that reflects the changes from COVID to the war in Ukraine”.
